Selection Process for the Collegium de Lyon
1 - Applications
Each application should comprise the candidate's curriculum vitae, principal publications and research proposal. For junior researchers, two letters of reference are also required.
The research proposal should be described in a maximum five-page document. The following elements are compulsory and should be included in the document:
- subject, methodology, sources, main bibliographical references related to the subject;
- the contribution of the project to the connected field of research
- the contribution of the project to other fields of research and how it may be improved by contributions from other fields of research.
Candidates' applications are first examined by a multidisciplinary panel of experts, who rank them on the basis of the proposed research project.
The complete application is then evaluated by the Academic Board, who select either the best candidates on an individual basis, or those allowing the composition of a coherent research group. The Academic Board meets twice yearly.
The principal selection criteria are:
- The quality of the proposed research project Its innovatory dimension
- The added value of the candidate being invited by the Collegium to deal with a subject leading to cross-disciplinary exchanges among the other invited researchers
- General impact on the Lyon site
The final decision in the selection process is taken by the President of the Collegium, after the Board of Directors has approved a candidate's recruitment.

2 - EURIAS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME
EURIAS Fellowships are mainly offered in the fields of the humanities and social sciences but may also be granted to scholars in life and exact sciences, provided that their proposed research project does not require laboratory facilities and that it interfaces with humanities and social sciences. The diversity of the 14 participating IAS offers a wide range of possible research contexts in Europe for worldwide scholars. Applicants may select up to three IAS outside their country of nationality or residence as possible host institutions.
The Programme welcomes applications worldwide from promising young scholars as well as from leading senior researchers. The EURIAS selection process has proven to be highly competitive. To match the Programme standards, applicants have to submit a solid and innovative research proposal, to demonstrate the ability to forge beyond disciplinary specialisation, to show an international commitment as well as quality publications in high-impact venues.
For the 2013-2014 academic year, EURIAS offers 32 fellowships (16 junior and 16 senior positions).

- The deadline for application is June 7th, 2012. Late applications will not be considered.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
- Scientific assessment by two international referees
- Pre-selection by the EURIAS international Scientific Committee
- Final selection by the IAS Academic Boards
